Oh are you feeding me now? I'm flattered, but I'll have you know I have some strict dietary restrictions. Alternatively, if you need help learning the technology I wouldn't mind giving you some pointers.
The cats are quite cute though. I take it they're the ones your son found?
[He's getting a picture of what might as well be a cat fresh out of a commercial for how silky and luxurious she looks. Sporting a nice fancy ribbon and sitting on a matching fancy pillow with her name stitched on it.]
[Cat's probably living better than you, Nanu.]
She's doing well. I'm still trying to pin down a diet that will help her coat maintain its sheen without looking oily, but she's adjusted to the cottage just fine.
[Well it had been a few weeks since Lyney had joined the household of wayward teenagers- and Webby, and a few days since Vil nudged him into taking this "date". It was really a way to get him alone to see how he was holding up.. or more likely point out that he was not, in fact, holding up well at all.
And also he'd essentially conned the other boy into helping him cook dinner, not entirely intended, but he certainly wasn't going to complain about the end result.
As things were, Vil was in the kitchen singing a little to himself while prepping the ingredients, and going over the recipe. He wanted to make certain everything would be going smoothly, and it killed time while he waited for Lyney. Due to the nature of cooking as well, he wasn't exactly up to his usual dating attire standards, but that was by design. This was just a casual "friend date" if anything, he wasn't going to add any unneeded stress or pressure on the other teen. He did at least do his hair and make up a little extra nicely because he's him, and of course he did.]
[ While he might talk a big game, it wasn't like Lyney himself had been on any actual dates so he had to try and figure out what would be best for wearing to anything remotely date-like.
Even if it was just helping with something such as making dinner, he attempted to dress reasonably nice. A dress shirt and a pair of comfortable pants seemed like it looked nice, and he'd even opted not to wear his usual hat or gloves. He... was understandably tired and looking a bit worn out, as the past weeks haven't been the most kind to him.
That didn't stop Lyney from plastering on a smile as he headed into the kitchen, smoothing out a wrinkle from the shirt in the process. ]
[Delivered quite kindly by the mail mice toVil's home is a bag of homemade potpourri and a little handmade Christmas Pixie although it's hat is a deep purple like the color Vil always wears. Last but not least, there are some Christmas cookies (some are a little misshapen but it's clear they were made with care).
Attached is a card inside is delicate handwriting:]
MERRY CHRISTMAS MR. VIL! I made the cookies myself with some help! Hope you have a wonderful holiday season. Again, Merry Christmas!
[Delivered to Vil's door by a giant owl is a box. Should he open it there it is filled with goodies to help survive the winter. There are two candles, one made of beeswax, bright and yellow, another is scented with cinnamon, orange, and pine. Next to the honey wand is a whole jar of honey that came from Aurora's bees, much like the beeswax honey. But it's not just honey and nuts, there is a sweet treat as well. Raspberry tarts are wrapped up safely to ensure they do not crumble.
In the box is a letter with elegant handwriting:]
Warmest and Joyous Yule Greetings to you, Vil. May this help get you through winter to spring's awakening. I wish you well. Kindest of regards, Princess Aurora
Vil! [Aurora's panting and rushing wind surrounds the sound of her voice. She sounds on the move.] They found her! My animals have spotted Webby! I'm going after her! I'm going to bring her home!
I won't be able to respond in case she hears me coming. I will call you again when I have her.
hey vil!! 🤗🤗 do you know if anyone in town does hair cuts? normally jamil does that for me but he doesnt work for me any more and i dont wanna bug him but i figured youd know about that kind of thing!
Loki was quite certain all he really knew about Vil was what he'd gleaned from others, and from Webby. The impression was favorable though, and Loki did enjoy clothing and appreciate a good sense of style. Considering Clotilda's current mood, and how she had already been somewhat sour before the current chaos, Loki wasn't inclined to stay for loyalty alone.
If nothing else, he could help for now and keep himself busy. Re-evaluate later if need be, but don't make enemies. Simple really. He could understand also how the other might be overwhelmed since Essek had left.
So, dressed for the weather, but still stylishly Loki headed for the castle, and then sent Vil a message he'd arrived.
[Vil was incredibly pleased to see the message, and was quite prompt in answering the door… not that it was hard considering he’d been working in the living room with the door barely a few steps away.]
I see you’ve thought about my offer- please come in.
[He stepped aside to let Loki in. The pace was large and rustic, and it had certainly seen a lot of use and foot traffic given the sheer number of teenagers living there. Still, it was well kept and tidy, and aesthetically pleasing of course.
The only slight mess was the coffee table which had Vil’s latest sewing project strewn across it.]
Can I get you anything to drink before we start discussing things?
[The pendant is a mystery that intrigues and annoys him. He doesn't need an additional side quest during a party - doubts the elusive partner in question wants to do so either.
He entertains it anyway. The easygoing nature of the party coupled with his own soothed tension allowing it.
And when the pendant starts glowing with a brilliant light, no longer the dim flicker he'd been accustomed to for most of the evening, it's Vil that meets his gaze.
This isn't the worst person to be paired with. He puts on a show all the same - bright smile, relaxed posture and a cheerful edge to his voice. There's a song in the background growing with increasing intensity.]
It's been awhile. I would say I hope you're enjoying the evening, but it seems almost impossible not to. This is quite the show, isn't it?
[Vil initially hadn't been looking forward to the party at all, after having just lost his boyfriend, he just wasn't in a social mood. Seeing others getting paired up soured him even more- though seeing Akechi was apparently his partner eased him somewhat.
The night was bound to be entertaining if nothing else.]
It certainly is, though less so than last year it would seem. Not that I'm complaining of course.
[It's not a very elegant holiday gift. What Vil will find left in the kitchen for his discovery is a piece of paper cut and decorated to look like a classic ticket voucher. It reads:
To be Exchanged for One Private Spa Day Courtesy of Cater Diamond
If the Bathhouse won't let recipient in on day of their choosing, Cater Diamond will facilitate an at-home spa day including but not limited to the following responsibilities:
1. Distracting all housemates with proposed outdoor activities to minimize undo stressors. 2. Purchasing local bath products of recipient's choosing because Cater Diamond does not trust his own judgment to meet recipient's quality standards. 3. Hand-squeezing orange juice for fresh mimosas!!! ;)]
[This was absolutely not a conversation that Cater wanted to have. He'd been toying around with the idea of bringing things up to Vil sooner, as he noticed some oddly tense behaviors...but had brushed it off. Figured it would get better. After getting treated to some outright vitriol, however, Cater knew he needed to say something.
He waits a couple of days, until he's sure that everyone else, even Idia--especially Idia is out of the house, before he braces himself and approaches Vil.]
Hey, I need to talk to you about something.
[It was clear by his tone that this was something serious--Cater isn't smiling, his arms crossed uncomfortably in front of his chest.]
[Vil had been busying himself with work in recent days. With Lyney’s birthday in the horizon, he wanted to keep his mind as busy as he could- and while he was expecting interruption (welcomed it really), Cater’s demeanor immediately put him on alert.
Vil set his sewing project aside, and gave Cater his full attention.]

[Of a bunch of really adorably dumb cats.]
[pls enjoy.]
You got 10 minutes to get home or I'm feeding your dinner to them.

He's still not my son.
And frankly you could stand to put on a few more pounds. You're practically a twig.
